Blacksmithing

I am just getting started as a blacksmith. I have taken a couple of classes at Prospect Hill Forge, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Definitely check them out if you are at all interested.

After my first class I was inspired to try to build my own forge. The initial project cost me less than $500 (not including the anvil), but I have sunk a lot more into it since then. Perhaps at some point I will post a parts list of my first set up.

Recently I completed what I am calling Oak Bear Forge 2.0. I had a lot of help from a friend and we built a roof so that I didn't have to cary things in and out. That was a major time sync that kept from forging as much as I wanted.

At this point I am not making things for sale or anything like that. This is simply a hobby, because I always wanted to making things from metal. You can see a few of my projects below.

Dragon Heads

I am trying to learn to make Dragon Heads. My goal is to eventually make a Dragon Dagger, with a head on as the pommel.

Silverware

Learning to make silverware seems like a useful and fun activity. I hope to make more in the future.

Hooks

A good beginner project and also useful.
